May 11, 2007 - Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me?
F-A-R-F-U-R M-O-U-S-E !
Hey there, Hi there, Ho there! Now the lovable Disney character provides lasting memories for Palestinian children, courtesy of Hamas al-Aqsa TV.
In his endearing squeaky voice, Farfur tells the kids:
"You must be careful regarding your prayer and to go to the mosque for all five [daily] prayers. I say, in the mosque and in the first rows, until we can lead the world."
"We are setting with you the cornerstone for world leadership under Islamic leadership."
"You must resist the oppressive invading Zionist occupation."
"We will win, Bush! We will win, Condoleezza! We will win, Sharon!... Ah, Sharon is dead!"
Nice stuff for tucking the kids into bed at night.
Of course, Farfur can't be expected to do it all by himself. He has a sidekick, Saraa', a soft-spoken young girl, who also has some soothing words for the children:
"I remind you that Al-Aqsa and the prisoners are a responsibility on our shoulders, and Allah will ask us on Resurrection Day what we gave for their sake."
Here are Saraa' and Farfur in action together:
Farfur: "We are setting with you the cornerstone for world leadership under Islamic leadership. Isn’t it so, Saraa’?"
Saraa’: "Yes, our beloved children."
Farfur: "You must be careful regarding your prayer and to go to the mosque for all five [daily] prayers. I say, in the mosque and in the first rows, until we can lead the world."
Saraa’: "We remind you that we, the great ones, started this program to lead this world. The nucleus, with the will of Allah, will be from here, from Palestine. We will carry the concern of this [Islamic] nation that awaits us."
Farfur: "From Palestine, oh Saraa’, what do you mean? From Gaza, Jerusalem, Ramallah, or from all of Palestine?"
Saraa’: "Yes, from all of Palestine."
Farfur: "If so, my beloved young ones, with the will of Allah, we will lead the nation from here, from Palestine."
Saraa’: "Our beloved children, many say that we had glory [in the past], and we had culture, and the Muslims had greatness and respect. But with the will of Allah, we, tomorrow’s pioneers, will restore the glory of this nation."
Farfur: "Yes, we, tomorrow’s pioneers, will restore to this nation its glory, and we will liberate Al-Aqsa, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate Iraq, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate the Muslim countries, invaded by murderers."
Saraa’: "Yes, they are children occupied by the Jews, but with the will of Allah, we will resist and protect against the Zionist occupation."
Farfur: "Until we win, with the will of Allah, we will resist until we win."
"All of Palestine" of course includes Israel. Greater Palestine will eventually become the hub of worldwide Muslim rule. "We will resist" is what extremists say whenever they mean blowing up innocent people. That should give the children sweet dreams.
And apparently the children get it. The show has a feature where children can call in and recite their poetry. Here are examples from the Child's Garden of Verses, Farfur-style:
"We will destroy the chair of the despots, so they will taste the flame of death."
"Rafah sings 'Oh, oh.' Its answer is an AK-47. We who do not know fear, we are the predators of the forest." (During the recitation Farfur brandishes an imaginary assault rifle.)
Saraa' concludes the program with these words of inspiration:
"I remind you that we are the ones who will carry the concerns of this [Islamic] nation, and we will lead this world, and I remind you that Al-Aqsa and the prisoners are a responsibility on our shoulders, and Allah will ask us on Resurrection Day what we gave for their sake."
This episode aired on April 23, 2007. You can watch it here.
We've already seen the Jewish mouse as viewed by Muslim extremists. Farfur is the answer: Hamas can build a better mouse, and hopefully lead the world to its doorstep. Once again they must rip off an American mouse. But who knew that adorable Mickey was concealing such a dark side?
Farfur is only the latest symptom of the poisoning of Palestinian childrens' minds that has been going on for years. A report on the newest Palestinian textbooks shows that the incitement of young Palestinian schoolchildren to hate Israel and Jews still continues. Just one gem from among many: "Do not think the occupier has humanity." This is taken from an exercise on Arabic grammar illustrating the use of final vowels!
This is how Hamas is raising the future generation of Palestinians who will have to live next to Israel. Imagine the nostalgia parties when, forty years later, they gather to remember the good times, don their Farfur Mouse ears and sing the old songs:
Rafah sings 'Oh, oh.'
Its answer is an AK-47.
We who do not know fear,
We are the predators of the forest.
