A remote-controlled CIA spy plane in Yemen scored a major coup in the U.S. war against terror, firing a missile that killed six al Qaeda suspects - including a key plotter in the attack on the USS Cole, sources said yesterday.
While declining to discuss the U.S. operation in Yemen, [U.S. State Department] spokesman Richard Boucher said, "Our policy on targeted killings in the Israeli-Palestinian context has not changed." Suggesting the two situations were not comparable, Boucher said, "The reasons we have given do not necessarily apply in other circumstances."
